Trouble updating windows media player 10 to 11
The Windows 10 update KB4046355 for the Fall Creators Update -- listed as Feature On Demand Media Player - Windows 10 for x64-based Systems (KB4046355) removes Windows Media Player from the operating system.
The update has been released for the Insider version of Windows 10 version 1709, but not to all devices that run the beta version of the upcoming Fall Creators Update version of Windows 10.
If issues are noticed however, it is suggested to re-install the media player using the method above.
Windows Media Player replaced an earlier piece of software simply called Media Player, adding features beyond simple video or audio playback.
These include the ability to copy music to a compact disc, synchronise content with an digital audio player (MP3 player), and let users buy music from one of several online music stores.
TIP When playing large amounts of media from your library, you may want to have the player randomly choose the next song to play or shuffle your playback.
To do this, click the Turn Shuffle On button shown in Figure 8.1.
